SNL closer to reality than mainstream Media…

FAIR AND BALANCED MEDIA COVERAGE? YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

At least Tina Fey’s mimicking of Sarah Palin was in good fun with Sarah Palin included in the joke. The unabashed ridiculing of Sarah Palin by the Media particularly Katie Couric was for what good reason?
Reporting the news as it was happening in a fair and balanced way? The unjustified cutting insults thrown at her family was for what good reason? Presenting a warped image of Sarah Palin’s personal life? To embarrass and humiliate her casting her as a less than capable intelligent contender for the VP slot?

Sarah Palin taking the bull by the horns… Good on her!

PALIN CABINET“I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope. … It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”

Turning the tables on the media has it’s benefits. It will be on Sarah Plain’s terms not theirs. Their questions will be without notice. Responsible for answers that will be analyzed, scrutinized and dissected by the public.

Dean remained silent during the sexist and misogynistic attacks against Hillary and Palin during the election season. Only after the election did Dean finally speak up in outrage. But the outrage was feigned. Good riddance to Howard Dean.

If Gov. Rob Blagojevich is guilty of trying to sell a Senate seat in Illinois, then Caroline Kennedy is guilty of trying to buy one in New York.

It is time to lay the Camelot myth to rest, and it is time for Caroline to stop using the name Kennedy to get an appointment that she doesn’t deserve and instead use the name Schlossberg to apply for the many jobs she is eminently qualified for.

If Gov. Paterson appoints Caroline Kennedy to the United States Senate, it will be (to use the words that were said of the gifted attorney Sir Thomas Inskip when he was appointed England’s Minister for the Coordination of Defense in 1939, a job he was not qualified for) “the most cynical appointment since Caligula made his horse a consul.”

WE NEED ACTIVISISTS CONCERNED FOR NEW YORKERS

In Caroline Kennedy, economy, Gov Patterson., Hillary Clinton, nepotism, New York Senate Seat, Secretary of State, Woman of the Year on January 3, 2009 at 11:56 am

PLEASE SPEND 5 min AND SEND A MESSAGE CAROLINE KENNEDY IS NOT THE CHOICE FOR THE NEXT NEW YORK SENATOR!

Here is a usable format you can print out and fax in 5 min or less:

Dear Concerned NY State Citizens & Others:

We ask you to join in an effort to ensure that Caroline Kennedy does not get selected as Sen. Clinton’s replacement for NY State.

After learning Rep. Charles Rangel is close to Gov. Paterson, we thought that this would be a great way of getting our message through to our Governor. We are not sure if any of our petitions or other correspondences are reaching Governor Paterson at this time.

We are aware that Congressman Rangel prefers faxes to e-mails;
thus a fax campaign would be the best way to reach him.

You can contact Congressman Rangel here: Fax: # 212-663-4277 /
phone: 212-663-3900

DC office: Fax #202-225-0816 / phone # 202-225-4365

e-mail- rangel@mail.house.gov

Feel free to use the following form letter add your own comments or create your own and fax it to Charles Rangel. Send copies to your family & friends so that by Monday Jan. 5th 2009, his office will be flooded with faxes & phone messages when he returns.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Dear Congressman Charles Rangel,

It has come to my understanding that you are a confidant to Governor Patterson. I would like to request that you get this message to him as I am not sure that he is receiving any of the letters, faxes, or emails that are sent his way. This request has to do with my respectful resistance to the “possible” choice of Caroline Kennedy to replace Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Jr.

I have nothing personally against Ms. Kennedy, but my concerns for our State and America are more important at this time. Whoever is ultimately selected for our State Senate position needs to meet the following criteria in my opinion:

# 1- The selectee must be qualified to be ready on day one. Senator Clinton has started a number of projects that her replacement might not be able to continue immediately. It is imperative that her replacement be able to be ready immediately to take over Sen. Clinton’s jobs. In March this year, Gov. Paterson’s ability to immediately take over in the Governor’s seat helped us to avoid a real disaster in NY State.

# 2- Senator Clinton deserves someone that supported her during her Presidential bid for office. Many of us have lost faith in the political process and what our role has been in it. Let’s not even get started on how the media behaved against her during the primaries. There are many people in NY State and across the country that would appreciate having their voices heard. Sadly, the mess that is going on over in IL is not surprising to many of us. We do not wish for NY to appear to be handling this position in the same manner. Whoever gets this seat, should be ultimately qualified and seen as such. Appointing anyone without the proper experience, such as Caroline Kennedy, would appear to be just a political favor.

# 3- It would be helpful to know that women do not lose another spot in their already low US Senate representation. There are many women in NY that meet the benchmarks previously listed. These include, but are not limited to the following: Carolyn Maloney, Geraldine Ferarro, Yvette Clark, or Kirsten Gillbrand. Appointing a qualified female to Sen. Clinton’s position would be a benefit not only for our state, but for our nation, as well.

In conclusion, please seriously consider this request. In this time of an “American Idol Generation”, it is gett ing harder and harder to explain that being a celebrity does not necessarily equate to being a good representative for the people. Should Caroline Kennedy still wish to be a Senator for NY, she should wait and run for that position in two years.

Thank you for bringing my concerns to our Governor.

Sincerely,

(sign name)

(print name)

All NY’ers will be grateful for your participation, once again, Thank You!

Kennedys’ calling in favors for Caroline’s support ?…

$$$$ is one thing- Favors are quite another. Favors are the invisible commodities that are the more powerful of the intangibles having the power to move mountains.

pedigree-resume

Now, see what happens when you are not too eager to jump to and openly support a controversial candidate, even if she is a Kennedy?

Key legislator to back Kennedy

Albany, N.Y.

“Despite early reservations, New York state’s most powerful legislative leader said he’ll support Caroline Kennedy for the U.S. Senate if the governor names her to the seat expected to be vacated by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver told the New York Post he’s rethinking his views on Kennedy because he thinks Gov. David Paterson will soon pick her to replace Clinton, President-elect Obama’s choice as secretary of state.”

However, Silver is not tipping his cards just yet as to the reason for his sudden change of heart. Where suddenly, seemingly overnight, he has developed a firm grasp framing the debate how his prior concerns have been alleviated… We are left to speculate. Does this mean Paterson has confided in Silver that he actually intends on naming Caroline as the new Senator from NY? So, it is safe for Silver to openly support Caroline because she is inevitable? Or has Paterson demanded he have outside support before he makes his announcement official, Caroline WILL BE the new Senator filling Hillary’s seat?

Seattle Times

And this for backup: (amazingly, the most qualified candidate Carolyn Maloney’s name is curiously missing from the lengthy role of candidate possibilities.)

“Two people close to Paterson told The Associated Press they believe the daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy will be Paterson’s choice. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak on the matter. Kennedy’s supporters include New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent who is another important ally for Paterson.

Silver had previously suggested that Bloomberg and his supporters had hijacked the selection process for their own political gain. Many of Kennedy’s advisers have close ties to Bloomberg.

Paterson has sole authority to name someone to the Senate seat for the next two years. Under state law, there would be an election to fill the last two years of Clinton’s term in 2010 and another for a full six-year term in 2012.

Other hopefuls for the seat include a half-dozen members of Congress and state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo.”

Caroline using last life-line, “you know”, “um” as her final answer!

In Caroline Kennedy, economy, Gov Patterson., nepotism, New York Senate Seat, news, Politics on January 1, 2009 at 8:40 am

caroline-boston-heraldTina Fey voice..

Caroline: “I can see the Nation’s Capital from my house, “you know”, my 5th Ave Apt”..!

Sarah Palin was practically bludgeoned to death by the media for just being honest. At least she spoke in coherent, contiguous sentences unlike the Columbia Law School graduate, Caroline Kennedy, who cannot convert her thoughts into the spellbinding words necessary if she is to be an effective Senator for New Yorkers!

Can you imagine the length of her first Congressional transcript as she is making her case for her proposed Legislation offsetting the $1B Budget deficit projected for the state of New York seeing the alternative for New Yorkers is severe budget cuts?

Will we be seeing the ingenuity of resourceful Americans under the gun from a sinking economy having hats and T-shirts of all assorted colors printed up with the “You Know” and “um” phrases, replete with an attribution to Caroline Kennedy, flooding the marketplace?

Collector’s Items anyone?

Will there be a battle of the T-shirt phenom, between the Bloomberg advance Team who refuse to give up their lobbying efforts for Caroline and Caroline herself countering with: “They Made Me Do IT!”

as she continues to justify her faux pas of verbal tics accruing even more damage to her disjointed effort for wanting the senate position in the first place?

If I hear Caroline say, “I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY”, want the position of Senator, representing the State of New York because “YOU KNOW, UM”, I’M THE BEST PERSON, “YOU KNOW”, FOR THE JOB, “YOU KNOW”, BECAUSE MY FAMILY, “REALLY, REALLY, REALLY”, HAS A LONG HISTORY OF, “YOU KNOW”, PUBLIC SERVICE….

We’ll have to recommend 2 years of remediation because her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever. After all, bad enough we have a dumbed down population that voted for Obama in the first place…Just because, “UM, YOU KNOW”!

The last straw would be appointing a candidate who besides the nepotism factor, after listening to her long enough, effectuates a Brain Freeze not only on New Yorkers but the entire country!

Caroline, a cold, clunky cacophony of cataclysm..

In Caroline Kennedy, Gov Patterson., Hillary Clinton, nepotism, New York Senate Seat, news, Politics, sexism on December 30, 2008 at 12:57 am

For many, the simplistic fall back for Caroline’s continued awkward foray into the world of politics seems to have arrived at the consensus, it’s sexism , mainly because of her lack of a noodley appendage.

In other words if Caroline were imbued with a noodley appendage, then all would be well and she would be accepted with open arms by the locals as the next senator from NY and any Negative PRESS would magically DISAPPEAR! Hmm.. in this case calling sexism, just isn’t a good fit for Caroline. She has been given far greater latitude by the Press in expressing herself when responding to questions than any of the other female politicians who have gone before her. I’d call it turning a Blind Eye and giving her a big, fat, pass!

Remembering the article posted here is from the UK.

Thankfully there are other observations that do, more or less, give us pause, that ‘sexism’ isn’t necessarily always culpable. . The observations made by UK reporter Tim Reid writing in from Washington undeniably focus on the articulation of thought put into succinct pleasing words that comfort the auditor’s sense of understanding good grammar rather than furthering any explorations suited to a ‘sexism’ catchall.

This from Tim Reid:

“Caroline Kennedy’s quest to enter the US Senate has suffered a self-inflicted blow in a series of interviews in which she can only be described as . . . um . . . excruciatingly, you know, unerudite.” (A link to the video of that interview and article is here at the link.)

“During a series of meetings with the New York press, one of which was recorded and is now being admired on YouTube in all its ineloquent awkwardness, the daughter of President Kennedy was vague, unconvincing and displayed a potentially ruinous verbal tic.”

“In one sequence, lasting 2 minutes and 27 seconds, Ms Kennedy, 51, revealed that she had inherited none of the eloquence, energy or charisma associated with other members of America’s foremost political dynasty: she used the phrase “you know” no fewer than 30 times.

“Asked to justify her candidacy – after days spent with handlers advising her on how to fill Hillary Clinton’s vacant New York Senate seat – she began in a dull monotone: “Um, this is a fairly unique moment both in our, you know, in our country’s history, and, and in, in, you know, my own life, and um, you know, we are facing, you know, unbelievable challenges, our economy, you know, healthcare, people are losing their jobs here in New York obviously um, arh, you know. . . ”

“Yesterday The New York Times, which published the interview with Ms Kennedy on Sunday – calling her forceful, but vague and largely undefined – released the full 8,500-word transcript of the encounter, revealing a verbal landscape knee-deep in “you knows”. She used the phrase a grand total of 144 times.”

“Michael Goodwin, a veteran columnist with the New York Daily News wrote: “Fantasy is giving way to inevitable truth. The truth is that Kennedy is not ready for the job and doesn’t deserve it. Her quest is becoming a cringe-inducing experience.” ( no grumbling about the NYDN… you have to admit, sometimes a truism emerges that is undeniable)

Tim Reid focuses on a salient point while Mr. Goodwin puts a finer point on the pencil and I believe their analogies, much to my “sexism” relief, are spot on!

NOTHING Sweet about Caroline!! The Queen has spoken!

“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I would be the best,” Mrs. Schlossberg said.

aka…the Rude, the Crude and Pretentious, Pompous Perpetrator of Paterson’s appointment to the NY Senate Seat! Kennedy-Schlossberg!

This is a Jim Dandy read from the NYT… If this doesn’t get your blood boiling. Then you are dead but don’t know it yet!

NYTimes Link

“After weeks of criticism that she had not opened up to the public or the press, Ms. Kennedy has embarked on a series of interviews..

Facing a somewhat delicate task, where she is not running for office but seeking an appointment to an impending vacancy, Mrs. Schlossberg avoided questions about the other possible contenders, saying she did not want to criticize them. She praised Mrs. Clinton, but said it was too soon to say how she could improve on Mrs. Clinton’s performance as a senator. She said she had been personally affected by the economic crisis but sidestepped questions about her wealth, declining to say how much money she lived on each year.

Typical Caroline. Make a statement and never explain what you mean.

“This is the opportunity that’s presenting itself right now, and I’m interested if the governor thinks that I could do a good job and help New York and help him,” Ms. Kennedy said.”

And where the word “OPPORTUNIST” exactly came from…

“Ms. Kennedy said she had spoken “throughout this process” with Andrew M. Cuomo, the attorney general, who is a contender for the job himself and is divorced from Ms. Kennedy’s cousin Kerry Kennedy. There are at least half a dozen other serious contenders for the job, including Thomas R. Suozzi, the Nassau County executive, and Representatives Carolyn B. Maloney and Kirsten E. Gillibrand.”

Yes, Mrs. Schlossberg, we know. You picked Cuomo’s brain for any and all the information to bluff your way through the process… (Just so you know…it’s not working!)

“I’m not a conventional choice,” Ms. Kennedy said. “I haven’t followed the traditional path, but I do think I’d bring a kind of a lifetime of experience that is relevant to this job.”

Mrs. Schlossberg, you are NOT even in the running FOR a Choice. You are trying to prove to your-self and Governor Paterson New Yorkers will like and appreciate you and be a plus when Paterson is running for his appointed seat.

Truth be known, you will be a Jonah around his neck in 2 yrs and he will sorely regret appointing you when he had the chance to cut you loose with little pain, now!.

NY’ers are WAY AHEAD of YOU, because they think with their minds not emotion. If Paterson choses you over any other of the really qualified candidates, they will exact their revenge on Paterson in two years..and he will be swept out of office with the force of a tsunami and so will YOU!

Relevant quotes from page 2:

“As things wrapped up, a reporter tried to pose another question, but she interrupted him.

“I think we’re done,” she said.

IOW, peasant step aside. (Catch my drift? you speak when you’re spoken too!)

SHAME ON YOU, Mrs Schlossberg!

A few more interesting facts about Caroline:

“But let’s look at the facts. Caroline Kennedy lives on Park Avenue with her husband and three children. She is a lawyer, writer and has raised more than 65 million dollars for New York public schools. She is director of the Kennedy Library Foundation, a director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Commission on Presidential Debates. She has always shunned the limelight and is a very private person.”

Didn’t I tell you she thinks of everyone as hired help, her hired help?

Caroline need to look up the definition of ‘Public Servant’ and remember who pays her salary out of their Blood Tax Money.

democratic-elections

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -The start of Caroline Kennedy’s “listening tour” was awfully hard to hear. So far, her first foray into politics has been one of private meetings, brief appearances, and unanswered questions about what she would do, say and think if chosen as New York’s next senator.

It’s a similar strategy to the one Hillary Rodham Clinton employed successfully in 1999 to meet and listen to residents and politicians, but with a big difference: Kennedy’s really campaigning for only one voter — Democratic Gov. David Paterson. He has the sole responsibility for naming a successor if Clinton is confirmed as President-elect Barack Obama’s secretary of state.

“It is not a campaign,” Kennedy said after a private meeting with Democratic officials in Rochester.

Yet there is an intense lobbying effort under way to persuade the people who can persuade the governor to make her a senator.

In that, the 51-year-old daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy is no different than the dozen or so other Senate hopefuls — but her effort has been far more closely scrutinized because she has never run for office and little is known about her politics, personality or priorities.

A big part of Kennedy’s effort is trying to convince upstate political bosses that she sees beyond the skyscrapers of Manhattan.

Upstate New Yorkers feel chronically ignored by New York’s political leadership, especially now that the governor and both senators live in or near New York City.
The region that sprawls from New York City’s suburbs to the Canadian border and west to Lake Erie has been in the economic doldrums for years, long before the financial meltdown.

Kennedy stumbled in her first public appearance Wednesday in Syracuse. She met privately for an hour with local politicians, then spoke to reporters for all of 30 seconds before being hustled away by an aide.

Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll said she “seemed pleasant” and added: “I think she’s certainly well-read.”

He said alot more than that. In a video interview, he said he didn’t think he would support her for Senator . Driscoll, was quite honest and candid about Caroline. I give him credit for standing UP and telling it like it IS !

Former federal prosecutor Dan French said she would return to Syracuse to talk more. “People need to let her jump into this,” French said. “She’s doing everything she can to meet people and hear from people, and she’s just begun.”

No one CAN stop her from jumping in to it! The more she speaks her mind; the less you like her. My only comparison to her… is her mother. Who was an interesting, charming and instantly likable woman . I’ve read Jackie’s biography… she was a soft spoken, enthused, out-spoken women. Caroline’s innate detachment from humanity speaks like thunder in the political world. She seems to project she’s more than what she is.. I can’t decide if it’s culture she’s lacking… or what it is… Women like her mother, Princess Dianna and now the warmth Hillary developed over the course of her presidential campaign.. What all these women have/had in common is they are/were approachable. Caroline seems to look at people like they’re ALL hired help…

Later in the day, in Buffalo, she opened up enough to speak publicly for about two minutes. But she was surrounded by security and media so it’s doubtful the public caught even a glimpse of her. The trip did not get good reviews.

“A drive-by visit,” the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle called it, urging her to come back and talk publicly to real people, not politicians.

By comparison, when Clinton came through Buffalo on her “listening tour” in August 1999, she dropped in on labor leaders, business leaders, ministers, family picnics and house parties. It was part of a long, concerted effort to showcase Clinton all over the state.

The then-first lady had an advantage Kennedy doesn’t: Time. She started introducing herself in mid-1999, more than a year before the election. Kennedy has only until January, or February at the latest, before Paterson makes his decision.

Oh, I beg to differ… If this sudden career change had really been thought out even as late as Nov 5th … or at Thanksgiving, she could have gotten herself out there and started lobbying people for support. Caroline would/could have caught fire by now had her approach been given some serious thought of what a Senate position entails…. Representing the Constituency… (remembering, Palin made her public debut look too easy. She was an instant hit.)
You feel it.. She’s the, “I’ll never ask them for anything” mentality. Those, yes those people, believe they are something special– Linda Harris comes to mind. The innappropriate comments, the nervous giggle, they interrupt or talk over you. You can’t wait for them to stop talking, because you’re gagging on their every word.
Kennedy’s public outreach so far may be scant, but her private talks have already paid dividends. Kevin Sheekey — the man behind Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s stillborn presidential campaign — has been promoting her privately, according to Democrats who spoke on condition of anonymity because the conversations are private.

UH! Big bonus for you, eh.. Skeekey? Get to work!

The backroom lobbying also centers around political operative Josh Isay, a former top aide to Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer whose clients include Kennedy, Bloomberg and civil rights activist Al Sharpton, who effectively endorsed Kennedy’s bid last week when he took her out for soul food at Sylvia’s in Harlem.

Yetch! Strange that Caroline chooses to do an end run around the People…
Those sorts of overlapping loyalties strike some as undemocratic, even in a process where a non-elected governor — Paterson rose to the office when Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in disgrace — is picking a non-elected senator.

“It looks like Bloomberg is creating a cadre of philosopher kings and queens drawn from the elite,” said Doug Muzzio, professor of politics at Baruch College. “I don’t know that it’s a positive development for New York politics, irrespective of her and her qualifications.”

Yup!

Bloomberg has lavished praise on her, and the politically powerful Kennedy clan has vowed to do everything they can to support her bid. After her meal with Sharpton at Sylvia’s, an appearance that is one of the rituals of running for statewide office in New York, Kennedy briefly addressed reporters waiting outside.

“I have, you know, quite a lot to learn, but I feel like I bring a lot with me, as well,” she said. “This is a time when nobody can afford to sit out. And I hope that I have something to offer.”

Well, no one can stand in your way Caroline… You just may be a casualty of the “Not likeable enough” syndrome… Alls I know is, you are giving Governor Paterson a Big headache and complicating HIS life… He is thinking about his election in 2 years knowing he will be challanged by Cuomo.. Paterson has a cure for that right now. Give the seat with your name on it to him. Problem solved.

Caroline… Not Ready for Prime Time!

In Caroline Kennedy, economy, Gov Patterson., Hillary Clinton, nepotism, news, Politics on December 23, 2008 at 12:10 pm

Watching Caroline’s performance visiting upstate NY is more than disappointing. As unprepared as she is offering up her paper thin resume of erstwhile experience attempting to bluff her way through to the NY Senate Seat.

I know working mothers in the PTA who have read books on the Constitution, worked as fundraisers for terminated after school activities because of school budget cuts, collected cans with the Boy Scouts for families hard pressed to put food on the table. And done it all undelegated , with their own two hands

Caroline running for the NY US Senate seat is nothing more than theatrics, PR firm and all. Her bid for one of the most complex and diverse states in the Union is being met with the resistance typical of NY’er brilliance at smelling something that just ain’t right! Sure they all liked JFK and RFK… we all did. They had a vision for NY’ers and the future. All Caroline is bringing to the table is her DNA.

Will that be enough to convince Republicans objecting to the legislation Caroline proposes germane to NY’er when it comes crunch time? What will she use for supporting arguments GOOGLE? Or one of Obama’s tricks; using a philosophical quote from a book she read in College? Or will someone else do the homework for her?

Knowing the street sense of New Yorkers, they will be very unhappy with the choice made by Governor Paterson if his choice to replace Senator Clinton is Caroline Kennedy. New Yorkers have all the RIGHT in the World to expect good service from their political appointments… Caroline demonstrates she just isn’t ready for Prime Time… even if Uncle Teddy has volunteered his help! He won’t be sitting in the HOT Seat when it comes time to vote!

A Step backward for NY’ers IF Paterson picks Caroline!

I would venture to say, Paterson’s prospect of election to the office of Governor would be in jeopardy IF he pushes Caroline on NY’ers as their new Senator!

queen-of-hearts-233Bloomy is going to challenge Paterson for the gubernatorial position in the next election cycle.. Who do you think the Team players, who seem to LOVE throwing people under the bus, will choose? I say, Caroline will go with Bloomy. They have been cozy for some time! Paterson is just a little “too True to Himself and erstwhile” for a Kennedy!

THE DAILY NEWS SAYS:

“After a lifetime of avoiding the press, Caroline Kennedy is speaking out – and some of her views are straight out of LEFT field.

Democrat Kennedy, who is now openly campaigning to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate, said Saturday that she supports gay marriage – placing her to the left of President-elect Barack Obama and the former First Lady.

“Caroline supports full equality and marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples,” Kennedy spokesman Stefan Friedman said.

She and Obama do agree on one big thing – both feel invading Iraq was a big mistake. (so do millions of others people…no deal breaker there)

Clinton, who is on deck to become Obama’s secretary of state, voted in favor of the 2003 invasion. Obama was an early opponent of the war, but was not a member of the Senate at the time of the vote.

“Caroline opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning,” Friedman said. “She supports President-elect Obama’s plan to work with our military leaders to begin a responsible withdrawal.” (like she ever came out publicly to discourage the vote FOR War..where was she?)

heres the good stuff:

“Kennedy – who took a slew of written questions from a variety of media outlets through her spokesman – flatly refused to say whether she would back the Democratic nominee against Mayor Bloomberg, who plans to pursue a third term next year as an Independent.

DOES ANYONE EVER EXPECT AN HONEST, DETAILED, ANSWER TO A HARD QUESTION FROM CAROLINE?

The Senate hopeful danced around some of the questions posed, but her responses represent more than she’s said to date on a range of issues.

For example:

* Whether Gov. Paterson was right to rule out a tax hike to address the state’s budget problems: “Caroline believes that Gov. Paterson’s budget appropriately includes both revenue increases and budget cuts while still protecting the most vulnerable,” Friedman said.

But didn’t elucidate WHO are the most vulnerable and what is being done to protect them. Does she actually know?

* On the landmark Campaign for Fiscal Equity school-funding lawsuit: “Caroline did not take a public position at the time on CFE, but supports fair funding for New York City schools. She supports charter schools, using government money for charters and the right of teachers to organize at charters if they choose.” Kennedy supports continued mayoral control of city schools and opposes vouchers, Friedman said.

* On immigration, Kennedy believes “undocumented workers should pay a fine, learn English and go to the back of the line behind those who came here legally.” Friedman said she also supports stronger controls on the hiring of such workers for U.S. jobs.

And what is her plan for accomplishing this complex task even for seasoned politicos? … crickets!

* Friedman said Kennedy backs gun control and opposes the death penalty. She also supports rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, but not right now due to the “fragile” state of the economy.

Just one of the reasons rolling back the Tax Cuts for the Rich… we are in a “fragile economy”!… Caroline easily stumped on the NO brainers

* Kennedy also said she supports the auto bailout package President Bush announced Friday, which uses funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program to help carmakers stay afloat.

Auto-makers Bailed Out before Homeowners is just plain WRONG! Auto-makers should file Ch 11 like everyone else and operate under the review of a US TRUSTEE of the BK Court!

*Asked if she would support an Israeli strike against a nuclear-capable Iran, Kennedy said she “strongly supports a safe and secure Israel,” but believes “Israel’s security decisions should be left to Israel.” She also said an undivided Jerusalem should be the nation’s capital.

Thats the Ball Game folks…if Caroline didn’t have a spokesperson she’d be floating a BLANK page for her proposed policy..

For Caroline, senate seat merely symbolic… more Cowbell!

In Barack Obama, Caroline Kennedy, economy, Gov Patterson., Hillary Clinton, nepotism, New York Senate Seat, news, Politics on December 19, 2008 at 5:43 pm

UPDATE: IF Caroline Kennedy’s voting record is used as the measure of her qualifications for Hillary’s Senate Seat… She doesn’t even come close to measuring up to her father’s, Hillary’s or RFK’s vision and passion for creating a better America for their constituency.

RFK essentially used his senate seat as a bully pulpit for Civil Rights, helping the poor out of poverty, eventually launching himself into mainstream politics for his presidential bid.

JFK launched his bid for the House of Representatives with the encouragement and grooming of his father Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. JFK represented the state of Massachussetts in the US House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953.

Hillary leaves the Senate behind with a stellar record for Women’s Rights and as a strong, tireless advocate for Education and the Health and Welfare of Children.

Caroline chooses to trivialize the seriousness and determination her father, uncle and the predecessor, Senator Hillary Clinton possessed as representatives OF the people, FOR the greater good of the people by pointing her finger at the NY Senate Seat with nothing more to offer than:

“I want that!”

Her voting record is atrocious for someone considering so serious a responsibility.

“Caroline Kennedy, the former first daughter who is making her case to get tapped for outgoing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s seat, didn’t cast a ballot in the 2005 mayoral primary or the 2002 general election, The Post has learned.

City Board of Elections records show the registered Democrat also didn’t cast a ballot in the 1997 mayoral primary race, a Post review showed.

Kennedy, whose records show registered in the city in 1988, didn’t cast a ballot for almost 10 years after until 1997. Then stagnated for another three years until voting again in 2000, no vote in 2002 then voted 4 times more in 04′, 06′, the primary and general in 08′.”

Governor Patterson, based on how hard YOU worked to get where you are today, do not succumb to the whim and fancy of a candidate unworthy of taking up a space reserved for a candidate who actually respects and demonstrated a serious work ethic for their constituency.

After all, if Kennedy thinks she is the better person for the job, she is free to run for the position in 2 yrs., allowing New Yorkers to decide for themselves.
